“Without a doubt, we messed up,” said Lula Lounge co-owner Jose Ortega over the allergic reaction by Sabrina Grozdanovski. Ortega says the restaurant has introduced new protocols to ensure something like that doesn’t happen again.


The group of 10 friends had gathered at a popular nightclub on Dundas Street West to celebrate a special birthdayÌýwith dinner and salsa dancing.

But a small bite of banana cake brought the party to an abrupt end.
