Hair dryers sold by AliExpress recalled in Canada over risk of electric shock

The products pose a risk of electric shock that could cause serious injury because of a missing safety feature.

A total of 48 of the affected hair dryers were sold in Canada, with no incidents or injuries reported as of May 2.


Health Canada has issued a recall for three hair dryer models sold on over concerns they may shock the user.

Each of the hair dryers is considered an electrical hazard by the agency because they are missing a safety feature called an immersion protection device. As a result, they pose a risk of electric shock that could cause serious injury or death if the hair dryer fell into water when plugged into certain outlets.
