Plans for 2026 FIFA World Cup training sites in pc28¹ÙÍøscaled back — again

Training facilities at Centennial Park and Sunnybrook Park were supposed to be repurposed for community use after the 2026 FIFA World Cup games.

The money the city saves on reducing the footprint of the Centennial training site will be redirected to upgrades at BMO Field, which have grown more expensive since the original estimates.


Plans for a soccer training facility that was supposed to serve as a local legacy of the 2026 FIFA World Cup are being scaled back.

According to , the planned facility at Centennial Park will be reduced from two pitches and two field houses to one of each.
