TALLINN, Estonia (AP) — Authorities in Belarus opened a criminal case against a 78-year-old activist who became the face of the country’s pro-democracy protests in 2020, a rights organization said Tuesday.

Retired geologist was charged with repeatedly violating Belarus’ laws on , Belarus’ Viasna human rights center said.
