What was the voter turnout in Canada’s election? Here’s how the results compare to previous years

While Elections Canada has yet to finish its count and release the official numbers, the agency is reporting a turnout of over 68 per cent as of Tuesday evening.

With 99.93 per cent of ballots counted, voter turnout in Canada’s 2025 federal election was the highest it’s been in more than 30 years.

Elections Canada  a turnout of 68.7 per cent as of 9 p.m. Tuesday, with nearly 19.6 million Canadians casting a ballot in Monday’s election.
