Daniel Vogelbach is expected to be the Jays’ designated hitter against some right-handed pitchers.


CLEARWATER, Fla.—The Blue Jays moved one step closer to finalizing their opening-day roster Sunday after manager John Schneider informed Daniel Vogelbach, Ernie Clement and Davis Schneider they had made the big-league team.

Vogelbach is expected to start some games at designated hitter against right-handed pitching, Clement is slated to be the utility infielder and Schneider likely will split his time between second base and left field.
