µþ±ð°ù°ùôDzõ struggled through 2022 in the worst season of his career, posting a 5.23 ERA and leading the league in both hits and runs allowed. But he returned to form last season, starting 32 games with a 3.65 ERA.
And with Gausman still not having made a spring training appearance as he recovers from the shoulder fatigue that set him back earlier in camp, µþ±ð°ù°ùôDzõ will get the nod.
Gausman will throw a two-inning simulated game Wednesday, manager John Schneider told reporters in Florida, as he races to prepare for the start of the season.
But Jordan Romano is now questionable for March 28. The closer has right elbow inflammation and will miss three days after receiving an anti-inflammatory injection.
Meanwhile, reliever Erik Swanson is dealing with right forearm tightness. Schneider said he’ll be sidelined for a day or two before ramping back up.
