A 32-year-old woman was killed after a hit-and-run in Scarborough Friday night.
The woman was crossing Sheppard Avenue East, near Bridlewood Boulevard, when she was hit by the eastbound driver of a black Hyundai Sonata just after 9 p.m.,Â
Although paramedics and passersby rushed to help the woman after she was struck, she died at the scene, pc28¹ÙÍøpolice Duty Insp. Brian Maslowski told reporters Friday night.Â
The driver fled in their vehicle Maslowski said, adding it was “highly improbable” the driver did not know they struck the woman.Â

Officers said they found the car with “extensive damage” on Friday night. The front-end of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata appeared to be smashed, with damage to the windshield and the hood, photos released by police showed. The car was found at 3275 Sheppard Avenue East and has a licence plate of CTCN 951, according to the release.Â
Police are now asking the public for information about the vehicle or the driver.
“If you are the driver of that motor vehicle, get a lawyer and turn yourself in,” Maslowski told reporters. “There’s no doubt, this person will be brought to justice.”
The collision shut down Sheppard Avenue East, between Pharmacy and Warden avenues, and delays were expected into early Saturday morning, according to Maslowski.Â
Investigators canvassed the area looking for video footage, and ask witnesses to contact them at 416-808-1900.
