Here’s what Toronto’s new ferries will look like

The city has awarded a Dutch company a $90-mllion contract to build the two ships, the first to be delivered in late 2026.

The city’s new electric ferries will be built by Damen, a Dutch company. The first vessel, to be delivered in November 2026, is the so-called RoPax. 


The first fully electric ferry, one of two commissioned by the City of pc28¹ÙÍøto service pc28¹ÙÍøislands, could reach Ontario shores within two years.

The city has awarded Damen, a Dutch company, a $90-million contract to build the two ships, the first to be delivered in late 2026, followed by a second ferry in early 2027.
