A man in his 40s was shot multiple times and was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, paramedics said.

The shooting appears to be an “isolated” incident, police told the Star, adding there isn’t currently a suspect description.
The investigation is underway, and officers are exploring “all possible avenues,” officials added.

Speaking to reporters at the scene on Wednesday afternoon, Peel police Const. Michelle Stafford said she can see how bullets flying in broad daylight would be “very concerning” to local residents but said the investigation is in its “early stages.”
Police don’t believe there is a threat to public safety, she added.
Stafford said she couldn’t give information about why the victim was in the parking lot at the time of the shooting.
