While his teammates supported him and his coach expressed disappointment, Auston Matthews seemed sheepish as he rambled through a short statement expressing regret for a May incident that led to him being charged with disorderly conduct in Scottsdale, Ariz.

But the woman pressing charges against the Maple Leafs centre told police that Matthews — and his family — were anything but regretful after he allegedly tried to get into a locked car with the female security guard, and pulled down his pants and grabbed his rear end as he walked away from her.
