Anna M, of Sheguiandah, Ont., won $350,000 playing CROSSWORD EXTREME
Anna’s love of playing goes back to when she turned 18 years old. She bought her very first ticket at that time to celebrate her birthday. Now 26, she still loves playing the lottery game, which is her favourite.
When Anna purchased her ticket at a store this Fall, she pointed at the ticket in the display case that she wanted. However, the clerk pulled out a ticket from a stock of tickets that was underneath the counter.
Anna joked with him that because it wasn’t the ticket she pointed at, she probably wouldn’t win the top prize.
What Anna had no idea of knowing as she headed home, was that she was carrying a $350,000 winning ticket in her purse. She forgot about it that night and only played it after retrieving the ticket from her purse the next day.
“I was seeing quite a few words that I had uncovered, and I was trying to not freak out,†Anna said.
“I showed my husband and said that I thought I had 10 words. He pointed out that I had 11 words. So, we pulled out a phone and scanned it on the OLG App.â€
“I almost passed out! My heart was racing. I had to keep myself calm. My husband said, ‘well, I guess we’re going to Toronto,’†to pick up their prize.

“It feels really good,†Anna said about taking home her cheque for $350,000. “I never expected to win this much. I never saw myself collecting a prize like this.â€
Anna plans to use her winnings to invest in a new home. “I want to build a house,†she said.
Her must have feature? “I have been dreaming about an amazing bathroom with a huge, comfortable, and relaxing bathtub to enjoy.â€
